Welcome to Episode 7 of the Vegan Posse Self-Love Series!

Sometimes, the fog is so all-encompassing that we can’t even see it. Derrick Broze discovered prayer and meditation in prison, when he was incarcerated for a nonviolent drug offense. Only then did he discover prayer and meditation and begin to emerge from the fog of depression and addiction. When he was released from prison after 18 months, he finally experienced true freedom – physical, emotional, and spiritual – and moved from a prison of self-hatred to the freedom of self-love.

Derrick is an investigative journalist, author, documentary filmmaker, entrepreneur, public speaker, and activist. Since 2010, he has worked to empower Houstonians by exposing corruption and focusing on solutions. Derrick’s work focuses on reducing governmental and corporate
influence on our lives and creating local independence.
