How much truth can you handle? Reverend Shad Goverland, brother of television producer and The Highwire host Del Bigtree, was born and raised in the Unity Church, a religion founded in the 1900s by a husband and wife who were pioneers in the vegan movement. At the age of 12, after hearing his father, a Unity minister, give a sermon about oneness with all creatures, Shad became a committed vegetarian. Decades later, his wife, Erinna, introduced him to veganism, and from then on he’s been not just preaching the vegan message but living it. He went on to become President and CEO of Unity, continuing to speak out for animals, truth, and freedom.
